Dalyn is a natural hair care brand committed to nurturing the unique needs of 4c hair to enhance healthy hair growth and empower black women. The goal is to infuse the natural beauty of 4c hair with the nourishing power of natural nutrients, all while maintaining a modern and elegant brand identity that resonates with its audience.
How might we create a brand identity that highlights avocado, rosemary, lavender, and coconut as natural, hair-boosting ingredients, engaging our 4c hair target audience of black women with 4c hair?

  • Create a brand identity that stands out in the natural hair care market with a unique and memorable design that instantly resonates with black women with 4c hair.
  • Ensure the design captures the essence of natural beauty, evoking a sense of confidence, authenticity, and empowerment in customers, and conveys the use of natural ingredients.
  • Craft visually appealing, practical, and user-friendly packaging, almost like customers can sense the nourishing goodness inside, thus making users' hair care routine delightful.
Research insights

Growing up with dry, frizzy 4c hair and facing the struggles of hair breakage and slow growth, I embarked on a journey to create Dalyn, a natural hair care brand that simplifies 4c hair care with the power of natural nutrients, aligning with the insights that many black women face challenges in finding suitable products and prioritize clean and safe ingredients.

I focused on the brand identity for Dalyn Hair, working majorly on the Logo, Product package, Style Guide, and other branding materials like posters to convey its message.

Future Plans & Lessons Learned

Understanding the Target Audience
One of the top lessons I learned from this project is the critical importance of understanding the specific needs and preferences of a target audience. In this case, catering to the unique requirements of black women with 4c hair was essential to create a brand and product line that truly resonated with them.
